Empirical Creative is currently seeking candidates for the following full-time and freelance positions:

Jury Consultant

Responsibilities:

The Jury Consultant works closely with a team of Jury Consultants to design case-specific research protocols for client engagements. The position involves all aspects of the jury consulting profession: studying case documents; designing pre-trial jury research protocols; writing questionnaires; conducting Focus Groups and Mock Trials; analyzing research results; and presenting results and trial strategy recommendations to clients. Must also be able to serve as the lead consultant on client projects and provide business development support in an effort to market our jury research and graphic consulting services. The position involves serving as the primary liaison between major law firms and Empirical Creative’s staff. The position offers many opportunities for growth and provides an opportunity to work directly with the nation’s most talented trial attorneys.

Requirements:

A Ph.D. in psychology, sociology, or a related field preferred, but not required. Private sector experience a plus. Strong qualitative research skills are crucial and quantitative skills are a plus. The qualified candidate will possess high-level interpersonal, leadership, public speaking and analytical skills. Must be able to work in a team environment and deal well under stress. Empirical Creative is willing to train the right person, so experience is not necessary. Must be willing to travel and work extended-hours as projects dictate.

Senior Graphic Designer

Responsibilities:

Senior Graphic Designers work closely with a team of Graphic Consultants, Jury Consultants and other Graphic Designers to create graphics to be presented at trial. Our design is informed by trial strategy and our goals are to make complex concepts clear and persuasive to juries through a minimalist, clean and clear aesthetic. The working environment involves periods of high-volume, fast-paced design and production work as well as in-depth methodical and collaborative brainstorming of design ideas. Candidate must be able to work successfully and accurately under tight deadlines.

Requirements:

Proficiency in presentation graphics with experience with most graphic software, including: PowerPoint, Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop. 3D software is a plus, but not required. The qualified candidate will possess strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Must be able to work in a team environment and deal well under stress. Travel is sporadic, but required as projects dictate.
